Failaka island
Kuwait Bay lies at the head of the Gulf, near the mouths of the Tigris and Euphrates. On Failaka island, Dilmun traders build temples in the Bronze Age, and Greek settlers under the Seleucids found a fortified town the Greeks call Ikaros. For most of history the mainland is desert grazing land for nomadic tribes.
