The Libu against Egypt
Rock paintings in the Acacus mountains show that the Sahara was once green and full of herders. Egyptian records name the peoples to the west Libu, which gives Libya its name. Libu and Meshwesh warriors invade Egypt and are beaten back by Merneptah around 1208 BC and by Ramesses III. Later, Libyan chiefs settled in Egypt found its Twenty second Dynasty.
