Castile, Aragon and 1492

Isabella of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon marry in 1469 and rule their crowns together. In January 1492 they take Granada, the last Muslim kingdom in Iberia. In October, Christopher Columbus, sailing for Castile, reaches the Caribbean. The Treaty of Tordesillas in 1494 divides the newly found lands between Castile and Portugal.
